This is troubling indeed.

There's more and more cases of where R does not work on Vigors. I suppose that if they used the wrong axle, it would have forced the differential and put stress on the gears. This stress will translate into the transmission housing and may cause the transmission failure. Too many times have I seen Vigor's being mis-handled by incompetent mechanics. Go after them and have them replace the transmission.

There are no sensors that would disable the R. There is no security system that would do the same. Sounds coming from the drive indicate parts rubbing and extreme stress.
