I have a 2002 TL Type S auto. The transmission just went our on me at 93K (just made it before the 100K extended transmission warranty expired).

The dealer is replacing it under warranty and the new one comes with only a 1 yr/12K warranty. For $250 they are offering a 3yr/36K extended warranty.

Any opinions on if this makes sense? I typically blow-off extended warranties, but given the 2002 TL transmission history, I'm wondering if in this case I should get it.
