20 minutes Idle bad for an engine? High rpms due to a missed gear, what are results?

So I was with a girl and.. well my RSX-S was idle for say 20 minutes before I decided to turn the car off.. Just wondering if this is bad for the engine or what cause today I found myself taking a nap in my car on lunch due to a late night and its soo hot outside I had to run the A/C... so bottom line, an idle engine with A/C going, this bad? What does it do?

Also, missing a gear, I am still new with racing so I went from I think 3rd to 2nd or maybe if I went from 4th to 1st... and the rpms just skyrocket extremely fast, I slam the clutch back in.. what kind of effect does this have on the engine? Keep in mind this is very rare, it has happened 2 times, once by me and once by a friend who wasnt used to the car.
