That's a different code... and if memory serves, the indicator is a flashing TCS and Check Engine together when the EGR codes pop up.

The EGR passages under the plenum need to be cleaned every 70 - 80K miles.

I'd go with the dealer's assessment. But being a cynical type, I'd inspect the coil packs after the repair and make sure none of them have any signs of arcing/carbon tracking.
