My daughters 2001 TL all of sudden intermittently blows cold, then warm air. No matter what setting you have the a/c set to, if the blower is blowing strong, then you get cold air. If you try to adjust the blower settings and/or temperature, the air comes out hot. Also, when you try to turn off the a/c, there is still air blowing (usually hot). Therefore, we either freeze or burn up, there is no inbetween.
