Regarding the Presidential Election

Several of the threads that have been posted here have had some pretty lively and, at times, somewhat heated discussions going on. We need to remember, however, that we are a family and are all friends that share an overwhelming regard of each other.

This election is proving to be rather contentious and divisive by the sheer nature of it being close and at a time that we need a change of leadership very desperately in this nation.

Civility, my friends, is key to debating this and all political threads. I am almost tempted to shut down any and all political discussion threads until after the election, but that is not a productive way to discuss the issues and to open the real issues to all of the members to participate in. We are all intelligent, relatively successful and reasonable people, and let's all approach these threads with reasonable thought while remembering that we are all friends otherwise.

Whether we support one candidate or another, we need to treat people that support the other side with respect for their position. If we can do that, the debate will not cause the loss of a member that we would not want to lose here in the forums otherwise. This forum really does not need hard feelings and misunderstandings.

Good luck and good debating.
