Can some1 inform me all the required steps of changing your own oil?
I'm reaching my 30k mile service soon (currently 29k) and I was planning on doing what Edub did, but one step further. I've never manually changed oil myself and was wondering if I need to do anything other than
#1 unscrew the oil drain plug.
#2 unscrew the oil filter.
#3 put new filter on.
#4 screw drain plug back in.
#5 put new oil in.
Am I missing something? Do I really need to torque the oil filter to spec? Where/how do you transport the used oil after you are done? Do I need to flush out the coolant? Or is it ok to just add more water/fluid in the reserve container?
