I like AMEX as well. Customer service is top notch and they are very accomodating. I have had a couple of encounters with AMEX, my bad of course, and they bend over backwards for me.
Incident 1:
I was in St. John Virgin Island a year and a half ago and I was at the counter to check in to our reservation. I did not bring anyother card (stupid me) and I didn't have enough cash to pay for our stay (only brought spending $). When they charged my AMEX card it came up as declined. I called AMEX right away and they told me that I have reached my limit. I was not aware of that because I had the card less than a month at that time and I lost track of my charges. Anyway, long story short, I asked for an increase on my credit line and they transferred me to a financial advisor and she took care of it.
Incident 2:
AMEX corporate card had an overdue balance (my fault again) and a charge was declined. Called them and they took care of it again.
