With regard to your comment that extended drain synthetics is "cutting corners"....NOW YOU HAVE THE IDEA. Its all about saving dollars and getting superior engine protection at the same time.

Let me get into the area of the 3000 mile oil change and your explanation of the financial implications to the Dealership. Pardon me...but this is Bull#$@%. Are you saying that Dealerships change oil at little to no profit because they are such good guys? Retailing is all about getting people into the store. Having customers strolling around the Dealership drooling over the new cars can't be bad for business. This is simply retailing 101....and the same principle applies to Walmart, Sears, grocery stores or auto dealerships. Back to the myth of the 3000 mile or 3 month oil change. The American consumer has had this concept pounded into them for over 30 years. We continue to march down to our favorite oil change establishment like sheep when our odometers or calendars tell us its time. Our technology and experience has provided us with a superior alternative (Synthetic lubricants) to this insane practice. Superior economically, environmentally and technically. You have repeatedly mentioned your 15 years of experience in the auto parts industry. Why is it that you hold on to 30 year old concepts and ignore the new products and technology? Europe is on a 9000 mile oil change interval. The U.S. 3000 miles. WHY? I suggest it is in fact the POCKETBOOK. Do the Europeans have better oils than we do? Are their cars so superior they can handle 9000 mile change intervals? Do American auto manufacturers require 3000 mile oil changes on their cars operating in Europe? The answer to these questions is NO! PLEASE...read the research, use some common sense, be open to new ideas and technology. Synthetic oils are not perfect but they are much better than the average consumer realizes. I choose to use them. I choose to do my homework on the topic. I choose to push back and not fall victim to the 30 year old oil change scam. Free choice.......you gotta love it!
