Help with Driver settings

I am trying to customize the driver settings. When I hold the info button for 3 seconds and then selsect the "change settings" message shows

Driver "unknown". Customize impossible.

What am I doing wrong? Also the MID only shows "Welcome" when I enter the car with any keyfob. At the dealership I remember I saw "Welcome Driver 1" on the demo. ???

You need to link your remotes first

Look in the manual for the procedure to "link" your remote fob. If the remotes aren't linked, you can't start setting up a profile for driver 1 and driver 2. it's easy to do.. i believe you hold 2 buttons in together for a few seconds to establish the link.

Once you do this, then take your remote fob (for you), start the car, and then do the "info" setup process.

Good luck!

All you have to do is press the lock and unlock button simultaneously on your key fob. If the red LED blinks once then the key is not linked. If it blinks twice then the key will be linked.

Do this away from the car then when you approach the car you will be linked.

The RL Quick Start guide indicates just the opposite.(locks/seats)

i.e.One blink is linked and 2 blinks is unlinked.

However, IMOP you are correct and the start guide is wrong.

By the way what is "DPMS" ? is it a typo in the quick Start guide ?
I know that "TPMS" is tire pressure monitoring system.

medrxman is correct. My salesman sent me a notice indicating that the quick start guide directions are incorrect. The manual correctly provides the information pertaining to linking the fobs.

Suspect he is also correct as to the meaning of "DPMS."

BigDog:

I could not find linking the fobs in the manual. Would you be able to give me the page # ?.. I must be reading over it with my old eyes.

PS:
DPMS may mean "Drive Position Memory System"

Thanks
