I need to do the same with my driver side mirror. It appears that the inside door panel needs to be removed to get at the screws to the neck of the mirror based on a diagram at acuraautomotiveparts.org.

yeah, I was just wondering if maybe I could just get the door panel off far enough to get to the three nuts without having to take it completely off. I really don't want to start taking cables off of the locks and door mechanisms to do this. also was wondering if I will definitely have to replace the clips once they have been popped out? was hopeing that one person could hold the panel far enough away while another person reaches in to remove it? if I take it to a dealer will they replace it with my own replacement mirror, or do they insist not too because I am not buying a brand new one from them?

I removed the rear panel to get at the power window motor and was able to remove the panel completely without harming the plastic clips. The top part of the panel hangs on the edge so there are no clips there. Once the clips are removed the panel can be pushed up and pulled out. The wires have plastic clips that allow detaching and attaching. I'm removing the front door panel soon and will let you know how it goes.

May I ask why you're removing the mirror? I'm having trouble with my driver's side, which is very loose at the point it attaches to the base. '05 RL, jus bought used.

Thank you !!
