Car 1: 1995 NSX-T
Car 2: 1999 3.2TL
Car 3: 2006 Scion xB
New NSX comfirmed by Honda President

Read it here:

http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...._code=04595978

Quoting Autoweek from a talk with Honda President Takeo Fukui:

"I want to bring it out soon," Fukui said in an interview for the annual Automotive News Talk from the Top series. "Everybody is waiting for it. It won't be in a year, though."

Fukui called the two-seat HSC concept "a realistic proposal" and said the production NSX would not change much from the show car. The HSC concept, which had a 300-hp V-6 under the hood, is shorter, wider and lower than the current NSX.

It also notes that the RL update will drop FWD.

NSX is in the Supercar catagory. And probably the cheapest supercar in the world.

Viper, Lotus, ZO6, all cheaper, faster, handle, and stop better.

I am looking forward to the new NSX, acura needs a new supercar. The NSX was great for 1992 but has been surpassed by too many cars. Im sure they will give it he bump in horsepower or performance and modern styling we want and need.

Looks great.

But what the heck is Acura doing again. $100,000 for only 330 horsepower, that is not supercar material. Here is a quote from the article.

"Holy ship! With aluminum and carbon fiber panels over an all-aluminum frame this supercar might come in around 2,800lbs. Think 13 second quarter mile times, straight from the dealer showroom"

13 second quarters suck donkey nuts for a $100,000 so called "performance car". They need to make it much cheaper like $40,000 or much faster. Vipers run 11's ford GT runs 11's, ZO6 runs low 12's, heck even a lowly mustang cobra runs high 12's. All of these cars except the GT are cheaper than $100,000 by a good margin. Heck you can even get some Benz and BMW sedans thats are much faster for less money.

I want to shake the guys at Acura and tell them we want supercar performance to go along with the looks. I dont care how good the car looks if it doesnt have the performance to back it up people wont buy it. Look at how slowly brand new NSX's are selling these days. People arent giving $90,000 for performance that was only good by 1992 standards, what makes Acura think that people will give $100,000.

I highly doubt 330 is the final number because this car isnt going to be out for a few more years.

I highly doubt the new NSX will only be a 13 second 1/4 mile time. The current NA2 with 290 and 6-Speed have already broken into the 12.9 1/4 mile times. Sure, most are being tested at 13.0-13.2 range, but it has been proven that under the right conditions and drivers it can do 12.9 on many different occations. Then, if you take the NSX-R, it already has been doing 12.8s. Some of the fastest 0-60 times of the current NA2 NSX has been around 4.5-4.6. Again, most are being tested at about 4.8-5.0 range, but it can be done. Therefore, if this new car does weigh in at 2800lbs and still only has 330HP (Which I think it will have more than that), the car will no doubt be at least a mid 12 second car and a low to mid 0-60 car. This puts it around the current ZO6 range, which is impressive, but my bet is still that it will have more power (Some are saying 450, but that may be a bit high) and the next NSX will be a 4.0-4.2 second 0-60 and 12.5 second 1/4 mile car. What HP and and low weight will get it into that range I don't know, but I really don't care what the final HP is. All I want is the end result. If it performs, I really don't care if a bunch of mice are powering the wheels

There is another thing the people need to consider about the NSX. Honda doesn't really care about 1/4 mile times. The NSX was never meant to be a 1/4 mile car. Even though the current one hasn't really been updated in a long time, take a look at the performance numbers it is getting on the race track against current higher HP cars. For a car with a so called weak 290HP, it sure does keep up and beat many higher HP sports cars of today at a real race track. Sure, it will loose by a few tenths of a second on a drag strip, but who really cares about 0.4 seconds? I'm not sure why everyone is so into 1/4 mile times. Seriously, who really races for a 1/4 mile only anyway? There are not too many people to actually race competitively at a drag strip, so it is all the street racers that are complaing about the slow NSX. However, the last time I checked even the older 3.0 NSX can top out over 165 MPH.

I do not agree that Viper and Z06 handles better than the NSX. But I do agree the Viper and the Z06 is faster.

GAS is expensive these days. We do not need V8. WE DO NOT NEED TO GO THAT FAST, and I do believe most people who can afford that nice of a car cruise the car. No need to race, because you know you get smoked. Looking at it put enough fear into your balls. The speed limit most of the time in California is 45mph local, and 65 highway anyways. 13s quartermile is good wnough for me. NSX is a sexy ride. I would definately pick it over Viper, GT40 or Z06 if I had the money. It's more reliable comfortable and sliker look

The latest issue of Automobile Magazine mentioned that 2nd gen NSX project is canned.

Any insider knows the real story? I really want to see it come!
