ive always loved the nsx--not only does it look amazing, but its an acura so its reliable--unlike a ferrari, the engine doesnt have to be totally ripped apart to be maintained. speaking of ferraris, i recently watched a video of an nsx vs. ferrari f355, and it was neck and neck. id take the nsx over anything anyday.

13 second quarters suck donkey nuts for a $100,000 so called "performance car". They need to make it much cheaper like $40,000 or much faster. Vipers run 11's ford GT runs 11's, ZO6 runs low 12's, heck even a lowly mustang cobra runs high 12's. All of these cars except the GT are cheaper than $100,000 by a good margin. Heck you can even get some Benz and BMW sedans thats are much faster for less money.

I want to shake the guys at Acura and tell them we want supercar performance to go along with the looks. I dont care how good the car looks if it doesnt have the performance to back it up people wont buy it. Look at how slowly brand new NSX's are selling these days. People arent giving $90,000 for performance that was only good by 1992 standards, what makes Acura think that people will give $100,000.

according to car-stat.com the viper does not run 11's they run low 12's and ZO6 runs mid 12's....

you also have to think that the NSX is a V-6 engine with low HP that can almost keep up with those cars while those cars have high HP with v-8 or v-10 or v-12 engines..

You also got to compare the engine. The NSX has a small V-6 engine against those other V-8 or V-10 engines there up against. They tested 1998 NSX and it did 4.5 0-60mph and 12.9 1/4 time. May be slower than viper, GT, and Z06 but not much slower. A car with a small engine almost being as fast as they much bigger engines with a lot of muscles you have to be like "damn" and so thats why I think they price the NSX so much. Its just like saying if you buy a device thats portable its gonna cost more than the device thats not portable because it produced somewhat the same performance but its smaller. get my drift..

are we sure that the price for the car will be 100k? that seems very excessive

often, car manufactures artificially make the price high for a new release, in order to drive market demand

when it hits the showroom floors, it will prob be in high 80s...buyers will then be more inclined to buy it then

im guessing it would be about 1500 a month to own one...at 80k..sheesh thats a house payment

I heard that it would be about 60k, but that was more than a year ago. Devaluation of the dollar over the last few years alone could cause it to cost 80k tho!

I also heard that they cancelled the HSC becoming the NSX. I will know more in January when I go to to NAIAS.

I do not think that the other cars manufacturers want to see a v-8 out of honda, the v-6 is already impressive imagine what the nsx would do if it had a vtec v8

The HSC is gone. Fukui killed it. Whatever. It's not like I could ever afford an NSX, anyway.

I hope the Ridgeline does well.

Maybe that can be Honda's next halo car showing off F-1 technology. What do we Honda owners have to show now against Vettes, Vipers, whatever? The S2000?

330HP is quite weak these days for an exotic, but perhaps due to its light weight, the 0-60 is impressive....thats is really what matters..the speed and high end torque for sports cars. Acura maybe marketing for cheap maintenance guys, high purchase price, but low maintenance, hey...I saved money on my gas bill...:-)

I am not sure why they wouldn't do it. I mean, Honda is profitable as hell. And that is one of the few advantages it has, it offers Type-Rs (though we don't get them), S2000 and NSX. But they are going the Toyota route with SUVs etc b/c they are very profitable and people want them.

Its almost like there is no room for both or something? AT LEAST bring us the NSX -R before they let it go!! Just one year, maybe?

Sad thing is Toyota themselves are threatening with the LF-A GT Sports car which would be around the $100K mark and said to be a 200 MPH car. If Toyota comes out with it (I think they said by 2008) Honda will have nothing. As much as I love the NSX and don't mind that they are still selling the current one, if it hasn't been changed by the time Toyota releases their version (Even if I probably won't by the LF-A) I hope Honda drops the NSX since it will look really bad against its main rival.

yea i watched a movie too where it was a porsche 911 turbo, bmw m3 CSL, 2 lambos, ferarri modena (i cant spell) and an NSX

the NSX just dominates the entire RACE in the end the lambos win but theres a few 100 hp difference

anyway i would love to c a lil more power under the hood or a lower $$$$$ tag anyway its one hot automobile
