Going to join the Acura Family.

My dad is looking into the RDX. I am trying to convince him to get the MDX.

I wanted to know the fuel consumption for the RDX. And if possible can you guys tell me the the difference between the RDX and MDX besides power and body size.(assuming those are the only two factors that set them apart)

You nailed the two major differences. Very different vehicles. The MDX also has a 'fuller' version of SH-AWD than the RDX. The RDX gets thirsty at the pump, depending on the driving style since it's turbocharged. You may very well end up getting worse mileage than the MDX.

Sorry for chiming in a little late. I think we average 20mpg as of right now. It has been going up since my wife drives mostly on the highway. In town it gets really bad. Around 12-14mpg, but the RDX is really heavy for a 4 cyl. turbo or not.

I've got both vehicles: 07 MDX and an 07 RDX Tech. The comment those other members mentioned are WRONG. The RDX has a stiff suspension where as the MDX is WAY more refined. I can't drive the RDX too long before my kneck and back begin to hurt. I much rather the MDX over the RDX. My partner is younger and drives the RDX daily. Gas on the RDX is NOT good either. I would concur the MDX can get better mileage. I would highly recommend your father to test drive both before he signs paperwork! If I were to take a trip, HANDS DOWN TO THE MDX over the RDX.......

Um how exactly was my comment "wrong'? I said "these are very different vehicles" which you seem to agree with.
