Mods being planned

Hey everyone,

Here's my first post and I'm looking for some opinions/knowledge on a few mods that I plan on doing with my '09 RDX Tech in the near future.

I know that there are only two Cold Air Intake systems available for the RDX right now, the K&N Typhoon and the CP-E X-CEL system. Any members out there with either? I would love some thoughts on each before I make my decision. I'm currently leaning towards the CP-E.

I also plan on looking into an exhaust system modification. I don't really want to go with a full Cat-Back system as I don't feel like dropping a couple grand at this time. I only really want a bit more of a growl out of my RDX at this point. I know that Church Automotive and ATLP are the only two Cat-Back manufacturers for the RDX right now and I know the Church system uses a Magnaflow muffler in its design. I'm looking at getting a Magnaflow muffler with an in and out pipe on one end and an out pipe on the other end. Does anyone know the stock pipe size from the muffler to the tips? I would like to increase these pipe sizes from the muffler to the tips so I can put slightly larger tips on the pipes.

Thanks for your help!

Let me know about the intake systems. If i'm not mistaken, AEM or Injen might have released a RDX intake by now as well. As far as CP-E, I do have access to it, but you'll probably end up paying MSRP on it.

Hey Snowman aren't you on Acurazine also . Well for question on the intake's the CP-E is the closest thing that we have as a cold air intake but not a true cold air intake the K & N intake is a short ram intake not cold air . Now if you plan on getting an a exhaust , reflash and intake I don't recommend the CP-E from experience if you don't live in a high altitude area it will not run good since the CP-E leans the fuel mixture to much and to fix that you got to run high octane gas or octane booster to stop the knocking . I would recommend the K & N intake I will be going that way or keep it stock . As for your exhaust question the Church exhaust is what you are looking for I will try to post a picture.

No intake was made from AEM or INJEN for the RDX .

Thanks sickboyeddie

I don't think I'll be doing the reflash. I'm still looking at the CP-E Intake....I've read some reviews and it seems to be the best option for a stand alone mod in terms of an intake.

And yeah I'm on acurazine too.

Snowman, I have the CP-E with the Hondata and have no problems with either. I run 91-93 octane. I would like to have the exhaust installed, but found the cai and the hondata the best performance mod. for the price for me. The sound coming from my exhaust is a little more deeper with the hondata, although not as nice sounding as per say the infinity ex.

Hey Blkice just remember if you add exhaust with the mods your running your fuel A/F is going to run very lean . The only way to offset that is to live in a high elevation area and run higher octane than what you are running .
