Brake Lamp indicator

I've come to a problem that i have no clue about. The Brake lamp light has recently turned on. I've checked my brake fluid and if my brake lights have blown found nothing wrong and yet this light is still on. Does anyone know if this is just a electrical problem or if i have over sighted on anything.

I've heard this one before. This is one of the few somewhat common yet not universal flaws of the Vigor. The wiring to the rear brake lamps in the Vigor are known to sometimes be faulty or will work inconsistently. The actual rear brake lamps will work just fine when you push down on the brake pedal, but the rear lights that are always on when your headlights are on may not. There are four of these lights that stay on in the rear when the headlights are on, two on each side. Check all four of these lights with the headlights on and I have a feeling one or more of these lights will be out. Try to do it when it's darker as well because these lights are not as bright as the brake lights and if one is working you might think they both are, when in actuality one is out. You can replace the bulbs if they are bad, but beware, many times it's the wiring not the bulbs so test the bulb in another slot first to see if it's a bad bulb or bad wiring. Good luck.

My brake lamp indicator often does the same thing, it will be off for a while...then suddenly I'll see it on, I haven't checked the regular driving lights yet, only the brake lights. I can't seem to find a pattern either, such as it only coming on when my headlights or on, or after i flash my highbeams or anything else.

You have a burnt out brake lamp somewhere.

This is different than the warning light that indicates a problem with the braking system. This warning light is intended to warn you of a burned out bulb.

Check all your bulbs. Remove them and check them. Because there are multiple bulbs in each lamp it isn't always obvious that you have a burned out bulb.

The Vigor's tailights do have it's issues, but not as some claim in this thread. The Vigor's tailights are known to leak through the gaskets and deposit moisture in the lens, and eventually in the trunk liner.

Like some has said, the Vigor's tailight system has 4 bulbs on the bottom, and then another one at the rear windshield. If the BRAKE LAMP light comes on ONLY after depressing the brake petal, then you most likely have a burnt filament in one or more of the bulbs. If not, then try checking the lights at night with parking lights on. A veteran Vigor owner would immediately know which bulb is out, but in case you're not, there's 2 on each tailight, making it seem like it's one long light.

If you're not experiencing either of these problems, then try replacing all the bulbs before proceeding. 5 bulbs is a lot cheaper than re-wriring and changing the sensor on each tailight. Personally, I've never seen bad wiring in a Vigor, but have heard of bad sensors in the tailight.
