I recently got a check engine light on my 92 gs. I jumped the test wire and got code 23 (front knock sensor). After resetting the ECM, the code came right back. The manual said to test the continuity of the wires before changing the sensor but I just got the new sensor. The problem I'm having is beyond me. I simply can't find the front knock sensor (or rear for that matter). The manual shows it being on the intake runner for the #1 cylinder but I swear its not there. Any help?

Towards the top of the page you will see a TSB tittle that lists the technical service Bulletins for the Vigor. Follow along until you find 95-021 Service Manual Update: Knock Sensor Replacement. I believe it's the last one and that should answer all your questions.

Yeah, I've found that but it doesn't really help. The only sensors in that area are for water temp at the thermostat housing. I mean, I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade, so I kinda know what I'm doin but theres just nothing there.

If you look under the intake manifold you should be able to spot part of the front one. Mine has a light blue connector with a single red wire. It's really buried down there. The sensor is mounted on a post stinking out from the block. I was shown where they are on a stripped down block. If I hadn't seem them there I might not been able to spot them. The back one is almost impossible to see let alone work on. I have not idea how you would get to the back one. The front one looks accessible by removing the alternator. I hope this helps.
