Car 1: 1992 Vigor GS
Exclamation Help w/ seat belts and ABS

Just recently on my 92 GS Vigor, my ABS light has been lit up on the dash. Why???? Is there a fuse for that? I purchased this car a couple weeks ago and love it! But it wasn't until today that the light came on. Also am trying to remedy many small problems with my Vigor. The seat belt latch on the drivers side will not catch. Would this still be covered under any Acura warranty? And both of the shoulder seat belts in the back seat are fully extended and will not wind back up. I have tried to hit the brakes hard and suddenly while driving, thinking this would wind them up, but NOOOO! Also horn doesn't work. Thanks for any help with these matters.

The ABS light could indicate many different problems with the system. It could be a wheel sensor that has goen bad, or a problem with the ABS unit. If you've got your hand brake engaged, the light will also come on, as well as low brake fluid. You'll have to pull the code in order to know what's the exact problem. More likely than not, it's the rear right wheel sensor.

The horn not working could be indication that the cable reel has gone bad. Try holding down the horn, while turning the steering wheel. If it comes on, then the reel is on it's way. Also try engaging the car's factory alarm system, that should engage the horn as well. If the horn works, it's also an indication that the problem is at the reel.

The seat belts are covered under Acura's lifetime seatbelt warranty. They do not cover problems caused by dirty belts though, so make sure they are clean. It's very unlikely that you have 3 failed belts, in the same car unless it was damaged due to neglect.

Good luck with the repairs, and let us know how you fair with the Dealerships.
