The transmission not going into reverse is caused by a broken shift fork on the servo valve. The fork is responsible for Reverse gear, and 4th gear. You can access this fork from under the car, with the tranny pan removed. You'll also need to remove the lower valve body to get to the servo valve and shift fork. The price of the fork is $30 from Honda, and the cost of ATF will run you another $60 to refill. You'll also want to replace the gasket and the oil-strainer while you're in there, and that'll cost another $10-60, depending on where you soruce out the parts.

A tranny replacement will run about $150-300 + labor costs of 5 hrs.
