Is this a Bargain, or Scam? (42" Plasma TV) - Acura Forum

Ok, Some lady is selling a 42" Plasma Philips TV on Craigslist, and I inquired about it.

This is the email and the following images of the TV:

I have attached some pics with the TV to this e-mail. I am now in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

At least the seller's letter was well written and sincere and not like most of idiot's on craigslist who can't even write two sentences without having any grammar errors. However, the link she gave you about the shipping seems sketchy. It seems like that shipping company is resided in Netherlands and she lives in UK? Seems fishy to me IMO. Ask her if you can pay her though paypal and having shipping done by UPS or fedex.

Phillips tv's are a joke.

But, if you can find some legit way to make the exchange, then go for it, cause $330 for a 42'' is pretty much unheard of. It'd be making sure you actually get the tv that'd worry me. Plus, given how fragile plasmas are, making sure it got shipped correctly...egads!

Yeah, cuz I paid near $600 for my 32" LCD. And it's not even a big brand name. One of the el cheapos I'd rather not mention to prevent being made fun of...

It's a scam IMO... anyone who uses weird freight companies just makes it shady. If she accepts paypal then at least you can get your money back after you don't get the TV.

See if you can dig up a Samsung HPT4254 anywhere...they should be dirt cheap by now since the new Sams all came out, but it's still a killer tv. If you can find one somewhere, it'd probably sell for $4-500, at most.
