Pretty cool list, especially since it includes every console, arcade games, and PC games in the same list. I can't really argue with many of their choices, except maybe putting Half Life (the 1st one) up a little higher.

I might've posted this before, but I can't remember and I just found it again. Cool stuff. I personally think DOOM should've been way higher (or Wolfenstein 3D, for that matter), and so should GTA3. Both of those games were landmarks of the genre. Burnout higher than GTA? Come on!

I like the list, especially with Ocarina at #2. However, FFVII should be higher (than #88!) and so should Goldeneye (than #29... not bad though). Sonic could be higher than #63 as the first real rival to the Mario games, even if it couldn't hold it's own in subsequent games. I'm glad to see Chrono Trigger up there.

I was surprised to see Rome Total War so high. It was rather fun, but 14 all time? Probably not.

to Goldeneye. That should have been higher. That revolutionalized the first person shooter and paved the way for the multiplayer we have today.

One thing that I don't fault the list for, just the way things are, is that now there are so many choices. Back then mario was teh only game on the block, so everyone had it. I don't deny that it sparked the video game boom, but it just sucks to see more recent really good games not on the list.

Agreed, it was a great game, but I don't know about it being higher than some of those others (read: Command & Conquer).

I was glad to see Secret of Mana on there too...what a great RPG!

Surprised to see TIE Fighter where it was too...I loved that game and was stoked that it made the list, but I never expected it to be that high. And X-Wing's not even mentioned!

But seriously, Doom? How did THAT make it to #30? The original FPS? Come on!

Well I can only see the 50 Matt wrote out, link is blocked at work. Call of Duty 4 should be on the list (if it isn't), Forza 2 (if it isn't), probably even Rainbow Six Vegas.

I thought I mentioned Wolf in a later post...but Doom was also much more popular and was arguably the FPS that made the whole genre really popular.

And Kev, the original Rainbow Six (like from 1998) is on there at like 95 or so, but no Vegas. If I get bored at my internship, I'll post the rest of the list for ya.

I agree that a sequel with better graphics shouldn't be on there just for that reason... but COD4 is above and beyond any other COD game. The graphics are the best I've seen in any game. The story was the most invigorating of any game I've played. And the multiplayer is more popular than any other FPS... all those add up to top 100 IMO.

As far as Forza, it's the best, most realistic racing simulation there has ever been.

Rainbow I was just kinda pushing for... Though Gears of War should be on the list.
