Macbook batteries

So for those of you that have Macs, specifically Macbooks or whatever the older one was called, has anybody noticed the battery starts copping out? For the first year or so, it worked great, but over the past couple weeks, my laptop will just shut off at about 20% power sometimes for apparently no reason, and I have to plug it back into AC before it'll turn on again. Anybody heard about something like this/know what I'm talking about?

My son's Macbook Pro does weird things too, shuts off and difficult to get it going again. Sometimes have to remove battery and re-insert to get it going again. It's not even a year old..just haven't done anything about it yet as he uses it every day for school.

That's what I had to do last night, I was kind of worried about it. It just seemed weird since my HP notebook would last somewhere around 4 hours and I never remember it just shutting off when I still had lots of juice left.

Since ours is still under warranty until September 08 I'll probably not do anything till Summer when his requirement to use it diminishes.

I've had my macbook pro for over a year - don't have any problems whatsoever, and my battery life seems as long (~3.5 hours) as it ever has.

how did you break it in? I've noticed with any battery, it's good to let it drain the first time around and then fully charge it.

btw, blacbook here.

I honestly don't remember, I got it over a year ago. I probably just plugged it up to AC right away though, if I had to guess.
