Need for Speed Fans

May I present the next Need for Speed game, NFS: Undercover. Looks like we have some waiting to do

EA CEO Uncovers Need for Speed Undercover
By: César A. Berardini - "Cesar" Jun. 18th, 2008 9:52 am

At the William Blair & Company's investor meeting, EA's CEO John Riccitello has revealed the name of the next game in the Need for Speed series: Need For Speed Undercover will feature a "a very strong mission structure" with "a huge and embedded storyline behind it."

Riccitello explained that EA has decided to change the development cycle for the Need for Speed series and as a result, Need for Speed Undercover will see a 24-month development cycle-- twice the time it took to create the preview NFS games.

May there be police chases...

If it's gonna take 2 years for the next installment, it better be damn good.

I found some more info on it. It should be out this holiday season. This game will have a 16 month design cycle, after that they will go to 2 years. Also heard it is inspired by action movies like The Transporter.

I think it could make for a very good game if it were like a movie, you know, give us a plot, let us control the chases, lets us make a couple choices that change the outcome, give us police chases and chases against a "villian". Pro Street sucked IMO, make a game that makes me want to win for more than just saying "I won".

Throw some variety into it, that would be sick. I haven't been into NFS games for awhile, got used to playing more Forza than the NFS series. If they can turn this game into a cinematic game role, I'll be totally down to buy it.

Yeah man, NFS should be the arcade racer. Let Forza handle the simulation, just give me a fun, out of control, traffic dodging, cop smashing, barrel role, in your face good time.

Hot Pursuit 2 was where it was at IMO, give me the same gameplay, with updated cars, tracks, graphics, physics, and i'm good

I played some of the older ones with a keyboard. It was doable, but still it's when you press left it's either 100% left or nothing, no analog function which I think takes some of the fun out of the game. I'd suggest at least a gamepad. I've had steering wheels before though, and those were awesome!
