New earmuffs
I've had a pair of Sony Professional headphones for at least three years, best headphones I've ever had. After many years using them, the cord has deteriorated and there is no sound coming out of the left earpiece. Thinking about getting another pair but I have never tried Bose headphones, assuming they have great sound quality. I don't want to jump to conclusions and buy a Bose unit for twice the amount of the Sony's. Does anyone use any Bose around-ear headphones and if so, how do you like them?

I think Bose has great sound-isolation, but their actual audio quality is really low-mid heavy. If you're into that, you'll like 'em a lot.
When I'm mixing stuff, I have a pair of Sennheiser's that I got off Musician's Friend for somewhere around $80 or so, but they've got a good sound as well. You using 'em for spinning, or just listening to music? |

I'll be using them for listening. Most of the music I listen to is in the low-mid range. If you say the are great for that range, I'll probably picking up a pair off amazon soon.

I use the Bose Quiet Comfort II (not the new III) - and I think they're great. I bought them because I travel on airplanes a lot - and they really cut down (almost completely remove is more accurate) any and all jet noise.
I recommend you try them first - but they were a great investment for me! ![]()

I know we don't at CC. Some other stores might though. See if you've got a Tweeter around you or something.

I just remembered that I live near a music store that sells instruments. They're bound to have over-ear headphones in the store but not sure if you can test out headphones.
