Casio "Speed" Camera?
Anyone checked this out yet?
http://www.casio.com/news/content/7A...-F29FCB99A6B8/ Think it will retail for $999. No telling how good the quality will be but DANG! Full HD and 1,200 FPS?!?!

Damn! Records video faster than the eye can see. Nice. I have a Casio EXILIM. I like it, but my next camera purchase will definitely be a canon. You just can't go wrong with the best.

Maybe so, Dave, but FULL HD? That's kinda awesome.

What are they going to be using for memory storage? Full HD resolution is gonna be limited to how much storage the camera has.
And 60 fps - Unless you're trying to capture rods in the air, I don't see a real usage for it - just my opinion.I'm with Kev - stick with a name and know the quality that you're going to get.

60fps might be nice for outdoor sports - I say outdoor because it's a p&s...useless for indoors pretty much.
Full HD is very nice, but yeah this uses what SD cards? Large capacity SD cards are very expensive. |

And, remember, the average video at 1200 isn't going to be something someone wants to shoot for a minute or two. Besides, it does 900 and 600 FPS, too. This is good for smooth slowmotion needs. Otherwise, 1900 x 1100 (rounding) = 2 MB. I GB = 1,000 MG, so that yields 500 frames at HD. 2 GB can then hold 1,000 frames. At 30 FPS, that's about 33 seconds. Put that on an 8 GB card and you have over 2 minutes of HD. This probably increases assuming some sort of compression algorithim. Useful for your friend at the dragstrip, your son (daughter) driving toward the hoop or soccer goal, gymnastics, birthday party (blow out the candles and song), a recital at school, etc. but if the camera is good otherwise, why not have that extra ability when you need it?Also, I believe Casio was just voted into 1st place by consumers. (don't get me wrong...I love my Canon 20D)

Think I'd almost buy 4 eights instead of that. WOW!
