I hesitate to post this because a great member of our community is an IU grad and loyal fan of their athletics

Dang, I didn't think they'd fire him so soon. I thought they were at least taking time to investigate or something.
I could care less about him, he's getting what he deserves. It's the IU basketball program I feel bad for...their whole team is gonna be screwed in the butt because of one selfish scumbag's actions. What a tool.

the longer they waited to fire him, the more harsh the penalty would be to the university. but it is unfortunate considering how well they've done this year

he resigned, but only because he knew he was going to get fired and that made it easier on everyone. I think Sampson is a good coach, but damn him for not following the rules, again! I know that illegal calls and recruiting goes on all over the country. He made more phonecalls than he should have. He didn't give players money or cars. But he was already under the microscope, so damn him. Now we have an interim coach who may or may not have potential. We have players who's heads aren't in the game. I'm just glad they didn't walk like they'd threatened. We went to the game on Saturday against northwestern (that we barely won). We didn't look like the same team. I just hope the university turns down our invitation to the tournament this year like there is talk. I understand doing that may make the sanctions against us less harsh. However, none of the calls in question were to players currently on the team. I don't think we should punish the guys who have worked so hard this season. Closing statement... Athletic Directo Greenspan is a fucking douchebag and needs to be fired.
