Any idea if this one is a good one and if it will work with the FACTORY bulb?

My coworker has a bad driver's side ballast and doesn't want to spend $300+. He already bought a new bulb and that is not the problem.

My kit did not come with a power harness. I bought the one from DDM tuning (I would post a link, but it won't let me).

Do you know if I can just get a 9006 harness on Amazon.com? I am confused as to exactly what is being spliced and for what purpose. I know the wires coming out of the old ballast need to be spliced in, but if I'm not mistaken, those are still live wires.

How do I unplug the ballasts from electrical power?

OK, I successfully did the procedure. I got mine from DDM tuning and bought the 9006 harnesses from Amazon.com. I drilled a hole in the same fashion as the original poster, but is there anything preventing you from just drilling a hole right on that circular cap behind the bulb and sealing it?

Overall I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

So far, the aftermarket ballast I am using is still going strong. The mounting procedure also worked out well.

My daughter hit a coyote or someting while driving back from California and smashed up the front left side. Headlight is still going strong though plastic lens is broken up pretty bad as is her fender and all the way down the left side of her car.

Unforuntately, body work is not something I am any good at fixing. Looks like I will need to replace the fender, headlight assembly and front bumper and then get someone to knock out the dents in door and rear fender.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but is there some sort of aftermarket harness you can purchase that would make a generic ballast fit into the factory harness without splicing?

Bad things start happening when you start cutting into the factory harness, I was hoping there was a better way.
