94 NSX One wheel spins... Please help.
I am actually posting this for a freind of mine. I race a corvette and he races his 94 nsx. The problem is that when turning left in an autocross the inside tire spins....
Is this a differecial fluid problem? If so what do you suggest we use for fluid? What else could it be. i am totally lost on this car.. ![]()

I know the 94 NSX does have an LSD...
But it is a torque control differential, "Torque Control Differential The torque control differential employs a multi-plate clutch and planetary gearset to help maintain vehicle stability at speed in crosswinds and when driving over split- friction surface conditions. The unit reacts to the rotational difference between the rear wheels and attempts to maintain the same rate of rotation at both wheels. If the NSX should be forced off the intended direction in a crosswind, the differential will detect the rotational difference between the two rear wheels and transfer torque to the slower rotating wheel. This has the effect of directing the car back into the desired path." I don't know enough about the driving aspects of it to know if the behavior is withing specifications or not but I would imagine that's not within design specs seeing as how you describe it as only on left turns. ![]() I know mugen makes a drop-in replacement. ![]()

Hi Joe... Glad you are here. This is the owner of the 95 NSX. And he is not afraid to use the NSX for what it is made for.
I autocrossed the car myself and it felt like a sim problem I had in my old 94 Rx7 gslse. Feels like the rear end isn't spinning both back tires on left turns. This is not a factory programming issue. It seems to be a rear end / transaxle thing. Possibly as simple as a fluid change. So what fluids do you guys run in the NSX? Thanks, Matt

You bettter post this at nsxprime.com
Unfortunately, this site is still new to most NSX owners and the hard core owners who would have the answer is still over at prime. There are a few of us here, but this type of question is beyond my knowledge. Sorry. |
