Here is my latest project.

I installed a reverse image camera in the keyhole location. That image is a bit grainy in low light conditions as the picture shows. It is fairly good during daylight though. Also the picture was taken in low light with a long shutter speed so it is a bit blurry since I didn't use a tripod.

The camera only cost me about $50 or so off of ebay. Normally those mini spy cams go for about $20, but this one has the reverse image capabilirty so it went for a little more and was kind of hard to find on ebay.

The pod that holds the monitor in is a JDM OEM Honda navigation pod for the NSX. It is not offered in the US, but a few NSX vendors import them and sell them for about $235 or so. It is contoured to fit the NSX dash and also replaces the NSX clock and larger center vents. The monitor is an Alpine TME-M760 which fits fairly well and I just had to mount the monitor into the OEM nav pod that slap it back in the dash.

Totall installation time was probably around 6 hours. I did the camera mount the night before and let the mounting glue dry overnight, then I did the wiring the next day.

Thanks Leon. What kind of DIY info are you looking for. This project was actually kind of easy. Also, it will vary depending on the car and type of camera you actually use. Email me at CKam@hawaii.rr.com and we can talk about it.
