New wheels for my NSX
Another question tonight...
What's the biggest wheel I can stuff in the rear? And what offset do I need? I was going to order some by the end of the year and want that Lamboroghini fat tire look from the rear if possible. Any recomendations on wheels themselves? I like the simple look, no rivets on the rim if possible but it's ok, DEEP DEEP DEEP dish as much as I can get (I think that deep dish look is killer), polished or chrome preferably. They're going on a 1991 black NSX. And links to some pics of great wheels or some on NSX's? And would you bother lowering the car? I kinda want to keep the suspension stock. It handles great, and I don't want to screw that up or make it ride like a lowered Civic bouncing down the road. Oh yeah, what's a good size wheel up front to match the bigger rear wheels? And don't forget about the rubber! What size tires can I go with frt/rear? Thanks again! |

Well, there are a lot of NSXs running an 18/19 (19" in the rear), however, I am not sure what the offsets are off a hand. There have been a few pictures of 20" rims on the NSX, but no real information about rubbing, offset and such were really provided. I would say 19" would be the largest.

ChrisK is right about many NSXs running 18/19 inch setups. That seems to be a "hot" setup right now. However, most guys tend to go with a 17/18 setup. Going with the 18/19 inch combo tends to limit your choices on finding tires with correct sizes for front AND back.
And I would still lower it about an inch. If it's bouncy like a Civic, then it was done all wrong. (Most of those guys just cuty their springs.) Even the standard, low cost change out from OEM springs to quality aftermarket NSX springs (i.e. Eibach/Comptech/etc.) keeps the ride reasonable.
