i am seeking my first used NSX. i would rather get an automatic due to back problems(i'm 50). what should i look out for in buying a used a NSX? problem areas, recalls, or ???

There aren't very many problem areas. The most significant would be that SOME of the '91s and '92s have a transmission snap ring problem. Some have been fixed, others haven't, while some others may never experience a problem.

No. I don't believe that it is an issue with the auto tranny. The snap ring problem was caused by a manufacturing defect in some of the early manual transmission cases.
