The problem with owning an NSX

Hi Everyone!! Thanks again for your help with my "What EL should I buy" question. I still haven't made a decision. As for THIS topic - I'm quite serious. I love my '91 NSX - don't get me wrong. I bought it used from a Vancouver, B.C. Acura dealer on June 30th 1995. I traded in a 1995 Maxima SE that I had bought only a few months earlier. I liked the Maxima but it was just a little too pedestrian for me. [at the time] Now that I'm older - 'pedestrian' doesn't sound so bad!! The NSX had 62,000 km on it [when I bought it] and now has just under 130,000 km. It's been a great car - not exactly cheap to own - but great all the same. So really - what DOES someone trade an NSX in on?? When you own a Civic or Integra [as I have in the past - well - several Civic's at least] you can always dream of moving on up the Honda food chain. But once you buy an NSX - what happens next? Where do you go from there?! lol I'm sure it sounds like I'm joking - but really - what would YOU trade an NSX in on? A little while ago I decided to take a new Mustang GT out for a test drive. Wasn't planning on trading in the NSX - I just love the sound the GT makes and wanted to see how well it drove. Well - with all due respect to the Mustang [and its history, etc.] I was quite surprised by how 'old' that 'new' Mustang drove. I swear that I could feel the body twist every time I changed gears. Was that an illusion or do 'they' do that?? Lately - I've been been toying with the idea of trading in the NSX on new '04 TL. [if I don't trade the Jeep TJ I own on an EL] Would that be a big mistake?? Would you do that??

Oh well - something to think about.

Take care of yourselves,
Craig!!

Saleen mustang or Mach 1 , If u like the mustangs. Or of course M3. Maybe u should still keep the nsx and get a economy car like the el. I think that would be smart. BUT if ur tired of the nsx. Get a saleen (only mustang i would drive).

If you bought a saleen or a roush mustang, I guarantee the body wouldn't twist. They are expensive mustangs, but expensive for a reason. They handle very well, especially considering the platform that they are on.

I would keep the NSX personally. It is reasonably rare, and reliable. I would do the EL thing and that would really make you appreciate the NSX more when you get in it. Well, maybe not as much as getting out of a Jeep and getting into a NSX though

If it were me, I would keep it as well. It is a very good looking car, you rarely see them on the road, the hold their value well, and you could very well regret getting rid of it at some point later in time. Happens to a few guys I know. They get rid of a car they loved for some reason or another, and always dream of getting it back.

Me personally, once I get an NSX, it will NEVER leave my possession, unless its totalled. I've been looking at an X since they were first rumored about in 89, when I was 11. They way things are going right now, I'll have one in 3-4 yrs. WOOHOO!!!

I would advise against getting rid of it, and just purchase another car for normal everyday driving.
