just an observation i've made since this thread was posted... in 6th gear you can roughly divide your MPH by 2 and get your RPMs

I go fast

As far as on the highway, I'm always doing 70-75 if there is no traffic, when there is traffic and we're going 45-50 on the freeway, as soon as it opens up a little, I leave it in 4th and hit it and the response is there to take it up to 75, (I used to have to downshift to 3rd to get about that same response. So you guys don't have to worry, I often give my car a workout, it needs to stay in shape. Once it gets used to being driven like a grandma's Buick, then there is no going back.

Seriously, when I had mine, I probably redlined 25-35% of the time... it was just too god damn fun.

And not that I go insanely fast in a neighborhood, but I still keep it at 2nd or 3rd when I'm going 25-30mph through a neighborhood. I just don't like the feeling I'm putt-putting along, like if I jam on the gas and it does nothing. I know I'm not going to do that in a neighborhood but I don't know, I guess I have no explanation why I keep it in lower gear, I just always try to keep my RPMs between 3000 - 4000 regularly...when I'm not redlining it of course
