just an observation i've made since this thread was posted... in 6th gear you can roughly divide your MPH by 2 and get your RPMs

, actually when I'm 40 and in 6th gear, I do have throttle response because of the blower. And if I'm in 4th gear going 25 in a residential street, why would I need to leave it in any lower gear, I'm not going to be accelerating anymore in that area, unless you're a jackass that drives faster than that in a residential street, there is no need leave it in a lower gear, seldom I even put it in 5th going 25 just to see if the car is still running comfortably (yes w/ the blower and no w/o it), so why? As far as on the highway, I'm always doing 70-75 if there is no traffic, when there is traffic and we're going 45-50 on the freeway, as soon as it opens up a little, I leave it in 4th and hit it and the response is there to take it up to 75, (I used to have to downshift to 3rd to get about that same response. So you guys don't have to worry, I often give my car a workout, it needs to stay in shape. Once it gets used to being driven like a grandma's Buick, then there is no going back.
