10% ethanol in premium gas? - Acura Forum

lately i've been noticing that some of the gas stations around here, such as shell, has posted that all their grades of gas contain up to 10% ethanol. since the type s requires premium gas, do you think its that big of a deal that the gas contains ethanol? for the record, i haven't gotten any of that gas yet.

Not a big deal, you get a little less mileage because ethanol contains less energy than traditional gas. However, it is higher in octane.

I remember hearing of this on clubrsx (Mr. Spade)

if anything it will be better, higher octane FTW. besides my RL runs on plus no problem when it too says to get premium

Just like what was stated earlier, octain raitings will stay about the same if not a little higher then rated (utlizing Engine + Theory/2). The down side is lesser miles to your gallon due to how ethanol burns
