Car 1: 1997 Acura 2.2 CL
Question 2 Door Acura's---Extinct????

I was wondering what was the last year model for a 2 door Acura? I currently have a 1997 Acura 2.2 CL, I am looking to buy another Acura. I don't know exactly what is the latest 2 door Acura. Anyone who can tell me the latest year and model for a 2 door, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!!!!

Car 2: 2001 Red S2000
If I am not mistaken the last year would be 2006 with the RSX and 2003 with the CL

Car 1: Acura RSX
Car 2: Acura TSX
Last of the RSX

I believe 2003 or 2004 was the last year for the RSX. I had an 02 till I totalled it. For business purposes I needed an newer car than the last year they made so I got a new TSX 2007. Great car but I miss my 2 door. Hope they come out with a new one someday..

"hibernating . . . for a bit." Why waste all that development work and cost. Once the economy picks up and the world gets back on it's axis, I think the NSX team will find funding to pickup where they left off. Just my opinion - but why throw the baby out with the bath water?

I'm sure we will see the new NSX back when the economy gets better. Right now all car manufacturers are trying to focus on cars that will make them high volume money rather than small sellers. It was hard enough to sell the NSX when the economy was doing good so it's smart they aren't trying to sell it now.

I also think 2 door cars are overrated. If you have more than 1 friend it's nice to have 4 doors and some car styles look better in 4 doors IMO. My definition of a sports car is based on performance, handling, and fun factor rather than something superficial like whether it has 2 or 4 doors.

I don't know about your friends, but mine don't have a problem using the front door to get into a car...and even if they do, if they have a problem, they can ride with somebody else. People don't drive 2-doors cause they're practical and convenient, they drive them (usually) to get a fast, good-looking car. If it's so superficial, try convincing people that a 4-door mustang is a good idea.

I don't buy sports cars for practicality either because they aren't practical but the amount of doors seems more of a superficial design rather than something that would actually affect the sporty nature of the car. It's like some cars being hatchbacks and some aren't but it doesn't change the performance of the car either way.

Also a way a car looks is such a subjective subject. I agree that some cars look better as 2 doors but I also think some cars look better as 4 doors if they were design that way in the first place. What I'm saying is that some people are really strict about their definition of a sports car and they will only accept 2 door cars as sports cars. Like I said I care more about performance and handling when I look for sports cars.

Something like what the Mazda RX-8 has might be a good compromise. It technically has 4 doors but with a coupe's look in design.
