Another Radio Problem.
Hello everyone, this is my first post...pretty much prompted by a problem I'm currently having with my RSX. I searched online and only found one similar post about it and there wasn't too much help given...I'm hoping I'll have better luck.
I have a 2005 RSX, I replaced the factory headunit with a Pioneer DEH p4000ub (so i can use my ipod with it) and have replaced my speakers with Infinities. I was listening to my radio a few days ago, I had turned it up and out of nowhere my headunit stopped working, as did my power locks. I checked the fuse in the interior fuse box for the radio and I checked the fuse on the headunit itself and both were fine. I then went and bought the exact same headunit and hooked it up this afternoon and it still does not work. Neither do my power locks (they only work when the engine is on, if the key is in they unlock) or my remote alarm control. I understand that the radio is connected to the alarm...I'm guessing something shorted out (i'm blaming best buy for that...had the Pioneer for 4 months before this happened). What steps should I take to get my stereo/locks/remote to start working? Any information would be greatly appreciated! |

Check the fuse box layout in your manual. It's labeled as a "Spare Fuse" in the engine bay fuse box. I forget what rating. Then, of course, check your wiring. I blew that one once when I touched the radio power line to the metal around it.

Edited: Used an amp checker on the fuses...its labled as "Back Up" in the engine fuse box...that one and the interior light fuses are linked...if one is blown the locks and radio dont work...I feel like such an idiot lol...fuse didnt look blown when I checked it. Thanks for the help...you were right

Yeah that's right, "back up." After my post I realized "spare" wasn't correct, but I couldn't think of what it was.
Glad you got it fixed.
