Talking Camber Bolt...

I was told by this awful mechanic that for them to properly give my '02 Acura Rsx-s the proper alignment they needed to put an after market bolt... ???? Is there alignment adjustment needed on my car... ???

And also I might need a new motor mount... ??

I have bought my car new tires(which are very expensive) and also a new clutch.. I kill my clutch lol

yikes!!! $$$$$$

You'd have to be dropped (i.e., on aftermarket springs) or have some other suspension modification for you to need adjustable camber bolts to correct the alignment, as far as I know.

As you say, it's an awful mechanic...

If it's the stock suspension then there should be nothing aftermarket required. As cloud said, sounds like an awful mechanic.

Yeah, sounds like it isn't aligned properly. I'd take it to an Acura dealer or a suspension shop to have it aligned.

Could also be that the tires aren't balanced very well. Whenever I get tired balanced I pay extra for a road force balancing. The machine will simulate weight on the tire and therefore the sidewall flex which does affect the wheel balance. Camber should not cause vibrations at speed. Just increase tire wear. As for this bolt business. Are they talking about the rear of the car or the front. There are various shimming 'tricks' that can be applied to the rear suspension to create camber but any professional mechanic that would use something like that isn't worth the time of day. Other than that a kit is necessary to adjust camber. Since your not lowered then the only way to induce camber (without non-stock equipment) is to bend a suspension component by hitting a curb or something like that. In which case the component should be replaced instead of using a camber kit.

Cliffnotes: go to a different mechanic/alignment shop.

If your on stock suspension, its very rare that you would need something like eccentric camber bolts. If your camber angles are waaay off, then you have something more serious (possible accident, worn suspension bushings, etc). Also remember that toe angles out of spec will wear tires out much faster vs. camber wear. Michelle's 05 civic dropped on eibach pro kit (very similar in terms of suspension design to the rsx) runs -.8 degrees front and -1.7 degrees rear camber with perfect even tire wear because toe angles are aligned and driving style allows for running that much camber on the street.
