Driver's Power Window Acting Weird - Acura Forum

Last Thursday my RSX went into the shop to get the Sirius / Alpine kit installed. When I was driving home, I put the driver side window down, then put it back up again. After the window went all the way up - it came about 1/2 to 2/3 way down and stopped! In order to get the window to stay up, I had to hold the switch in the up position until the window was all the way up.

Is there a reset to the limit switch, or the switch that detects when the window hits an obstruction and auto reverses?

Any help will be appreciated!

Mine just started doing this a couple of weeks ago when the cold weather hit. Window goes up half way, stops and goes back down. But only when my car is dirty. When it's squeaky clean, it doesn't do it.

i think, this happens during in cold temp. cuz mine does it too when it's cold.

Only tried it this morning, so I don't know. What throws a real wrench in the whole problem is the fact that the alarm system also raises and lowers the windows, so it could be (a) the factory circuits or (b) the alarm sub-system.

This is the anti pinch feature w/ our auto-up windows. Its to make sure some of you don't end up lopping off a finger or something w/ the window.

Dean - how do you "reset" it - or is this a service center fix?

No real reset for it. Just keep the glass clean and free of obstructions.

It happens to me once in a blue moon when I'm rolling up a wet window and the water makes some kind of seal, straining the motor and eventually making it reverse.
