Engine Start Button DIY!!!!
Alright, my first time doing a DIY. Instead of one long post of everything, I think I'll just submit separate posts. I will post a picture along with each post with an explanation of the picture.
I bought the item from It comes with everything you need, except t-taps. The instructions comes with it too, but hopefully my pictures will help you out. And just a word of clarification, the DIY from clubrsx that Giken provided me has different instructions than what I'm going to provide here. That is because the wiring harness already comes prewired with this product, so the procedure and the wires that I'm tapping here are a little different. If the admins deem this worthy enough, please sticky this. Without further delay, here we go... |

So parts that you'll need. The black ties, the extra wires (in case you need more slack), and the the little package on the left with the ground wire thingy and the two red thingies all come with the purchase. The t-taps you can get from Radioshack. You actually just need the blue t-taps. You only need two but get the whole pack just to be safe, in case you mess up. And you also need to have some eletrical tape.

Here are the plastic pieces that surrounds the steering column. It's easily removable, there are only 3 screws. Then just pop them off.

Alright, let's start the wiring process. First, disconnect the battery. I just disconnect the red side and pushed it all the way down, make sure the metal doesn't make contact with the battery.

Look at the wires. You'll see these wires.
White wire Black/yellow wire Red/white wire Black/white wire Black/red wire The black/yellow (ignition) and the black/white (starter) is what we need. |
