(there it is !)Man, if someone could spend $69 and add 50 HP to their rSEX, it would have been the first thing we would have advised. BUT, on the chance that I'm a dumb shit (I haven't even clicked on the ad), I'll let some of the smarter peeps pop in here.

if it were true we'd all be doing it. It's a chip, it will change the fuel map and ignition timing to produce more power. I can guarantee you it won't give you 50hp. Drop it into a Viper with intake/header/exhaust and maybe you can get 50hp. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is.

my girlfriend was lookin at the sponser link on this site seeing where I've been getting all my wonderful information from. She saw it and thought I should ask and just to satisfy her curiosity I posted the question. I think I'm going to get her a grounding kit for her car. it's a pretty cheap upgrade and seem's feesible enough that it would actually work.
Now, here's another question, what grounding kits do you guy's recommend. I notice two different ones on hop up racing both with two way different prices. I like veilside products but will lineage ground system do just fine? |

I like the one with all the colored wires !!!
Well, if you get one, lemme know if there is any noticeable difference. ![]()

I did a DIY grounding kit. It's not really a performance/hp increase, but a modification to maintain voltage.

Sorry for not getting in here earlier. The chips from SLR look like snake oil. It's probably going to be one of those stupid little resistor packs that's sold all over ebay. For the price, I highly doubt there was ever much R&D that went into it. For anybody that has tuned their car before on the dyno on this engine, a simple chip that does little to reprogram the base maps for fuel, ignition or cam phasing will make little to no power.
As far as grounding kits go, gains are not very great unless you have something that has a high amperage draw. Even without a high amperage draw, you will still make gains, dependent on where you place the ground straps. I've always been a fan of making my own grounding kits and using a voltage stabilizer in conjunction.

Alrighty, I'm bumping an older thread that I said I would keep going if and when she did something new to the car. AFTER ALL THE TIME SPENT! She decided to go with a rim/tire set, I don't remember the name of what she got exactly but they are RED. lol I sound really stupid not being able to say names, I'm tired and I'm baby sitting her sisters kid.
ANYWAY'S, She is also is getting her valve cover powder coated red, similar to the JDM or INTEGRA, aftermarket ones. She's slowly making it into a show car. She also got a Carbon fiber hood, similar looking to the newer EVO 10 GSR. I'll be custom making her an air intake that'll split to the scoop up on top and come into line with the standard Short Ram she already has. I love welding, so this wont be to hard and yes the two will both have filters as well. That's all for now, if my idea doesn't work for more power or she really doesn't like it, were going to put a velocity stack on it. But I do have a question about the velocity stack, is it worth it. She does plan on keeping it N/A and will be upgrading the cam, cam gears, valves and springs. Later on. Sorry it's been awhile and I've been inactive, I've just got laid off from work and I've been spending every moment trying to find another. |
