I r newb first off and just got my rsx-s, what do you mean when you say you don't hit vtec anymore? I noticed today when I was in 2nd gear when I got up to about 6000 rpms.. I got like a boost, is that vtec kicking in..? Can someone explains how all that works as if you were talking to a 12 year old?

Yes, that "boost" you feel is vtec. Your cars ECU automatically adjusts the intake and exhaust valve timing to lengthen them, giving your engine more fresh air and allowing more time for the spent air (exhaust) to escape, which when combined with more fuel equals more power.

Air + fuel = power

Any time your increase the two your result is increased.

It automatically changes to vtec at 5,850rpm (I believe for the 05-06, not sure about the 02-04).

I know this is a technicality and doesn't detract from what you guys are saying, but isn't the thing with iV-TEC that V-TEC is always running (above some low RPM like 2000) but is constantly being adjusted (and it always gets the real kick at 5,850RPM)?

CAI is cold air intake correct? Does it really matter what kind you get on the CAI? Why would that help change the sound?

Yes CAI is cold air intake. There's a few brands, they all claim they're the best. I've seen the best gains out of Injen though. It unrestricts the engine, you can definitely hear the engine much louder with a CAI installed. Plus at low rpms it has a slight whistle sound.

It's the A-Spec wing (aka Type R wing)

RH = race header. Shorty headers are just the headers, a race header is the headers and it eliminates the catalytic converter. You won't pass emission with a race header.
