Yeah the "sucking point" or opening of the tube is located at the lowest point of the under carriage, but not any lower. To give an example, if you were to open the hood and look at your stock air box, imagine an opening in the wall of the box right under the tube that goes to the intake manifold, well that tube would make a 90 degree turn towards the ground and go all way to the lowest point of the undercarriage without going any further. Well that's how the comptech icebox is.
Well that would suck if they don't offer it. And I see how that it would be hard to get water up in there. But since the tube is at the lowest point and exposed underneath the car...somehow I just don't feel safe with it being there. I just don't want to fuck up my car just for it to be a little bit louder and a little more gain...

1- The tube is not exposed. I'm going to have to try to take a picture for you one of these days.
2- Yes just a little bit louder than stock
3- It's not just a little bit of gains, the max hp gain is 2 or 3 hp shy of the Injen CAI, so like I said a long time ago, I was willing to sacrifice 2 or 3 max hp for peace of mind.

I would sacrifice 2-3hp for a peace of mind too. Do take a picture for me. I have to be absolutely sure that there is 0.0000001% chance of hydolocking with the icebox for me to get it.

good news! the acura dealer guy called me back and told me that the acura rep looked at my car and was skeptical about it at first and thought i was lying about something (which i have been) but after some convincing from my acura dealership (for some reason they like me) decided to help me out since i was young. dont understand their philosophy on that one but im not complaining. looks like i will be another week without my car, but at least i have the peace of mind that its getting fixed. brand new k20 here i come.

congrats! finally glad to hear that everything's working out right. woot:

it's really good to hear that SOME dealership actually have a great customer service and actually obeys the factory warranty.
