RSX AEM V2 Review

AEM V2 : Bought Used for 150 Shipped + Cleaning Kit
02' RSX Type S w/ 82k Miles

RESULTS MAY VARY

Tools:
- 10mm Ratchet Socket
- Screw Driver
- Flathead
- A extra person wouldn't hurt either.

Time:
1 - 2 Hours Depending on Experience.

Initial Thoughts:
A nice Gunmetal finish... very sleek and 'hi-tech' lookin. Pretty Light. Definetly Looks different than your average SRI...the v2 was supposed to be a CAI for all cars but on the RSX its a SRI due to the placement.

Fit and Finish
I've installed 1 intake before hand for a RSX... that took 2 hours... with the right tools (listed above) this installation took me only an hour! We ran into no trouble at all installing the intake. The only thing you should be careful about is hitting the filter against the steering column (i think thats what it is) if it does touch it, slide ur filter up a little more into the pipe and you'll have about 2 inches of clearance. The Fit is perfect as long as you read the instructions...
Honestly the hardest thing about installing a intake is taking out the original Air System. So you shouldn't have many problems other than that.

Performance:

-Sound-
I've heard that the V2 was loud but wow, when you floor the pedal at 3k - 4k rpm... its a nice low rumbling sound... at 5-6k its a louder roar... and after 6k rpms wow it just goes NUTS! i mean this thing was echoing off the freeway walls and i was loving every moment.

-Engine Performance-
Living in the busy bay area of Northern California, i didn't have many places to test the Low End Power of the RSX after the V2... on the freeway however, i was able to see how well it worked top end. Normally from whati found accelerating to 100mph can seem to be a small challenge but when i was accelerating one moment it said 80 mph... and before i knew it i had already hit 110... so from a roll the Intake does seem to help quite a bit.

Overall:

I have no real past experience w/ aftermarket intakes at all, especially on the RSX, since the other intake we installed was for the Base. But with nothing to base it against i'd give it a
9/10 for the Install
9/10 for Satisfaction (i'd give it a 10 if i had somethign to compare it with)
9/10 Overall

Pictures will be up later tonite after 10pm PST if u want to see ...

ya u can really see it in this pic in one of your albums....busted ass filter =) ....other than that i hope it performs well for you....i just recently got an AEM CAI for my integra about a month ago and it pulls nicely on a cool night...i definitely notice a difference....it relocated my filter all the way down tho....in front of my right tire, down all the way by bottom of bumper...very effective
