Ok, another quick question:
In getting this estimate together, the guy found a used hatchback, but it has a spoiler. due to my mom answering the phone and her complete confusion about anything car related, she told that guys that i would love to have a spoile. the thing is: i hate them. So, the guy said it was contoured to the body. does that mean it looks like this: ![]() or ![]() or ![]() He said it would add $350 to the car's value, which would help if i am pushing it on repair costs, but i dont want something on my car that i completely hate looking at. Honestly i would not mind so much the last 2 pics, the 1st one is the one that worries me. |

Can't see the last one, but to me "contoured to the body" would most likely mean the lip spoiler that comes with 05-06 Type S's.

The blue one [edit] looks like the stock BASE spoiler and the silver one (like mine) looks like the "R" high-wing spoiler from Acura. Both have screw holes in them.

first of all sorry to hear abt it...
also dont forget to check if there is any depreciation value provided by either u r insurance or his insurance.... i read some where that after an accident the insurance gives back the amount by which the market value of the car got reduced due to accident..... |

ok, we got an email form the guy talking about the spoiler: it is gonna be like the middle blue one. as much as i hate having it, it is there. long and complicated story in which my mom will not give up adding more value to the car, no matter the looks is behind this, but i will spare you all.
plus i saw this pic and it cheered me up a bit about having it, not that i like it now, just that it will be more livable: ![]() and if worse comes to worse, it will be a nice little project for me to hide the holes once i take it off. well, i am still crossing my fingers as he prepares the estimates. i assume it will still be not totaled, but who knows what could happen with my luck and all. |

Man, finding a kindred spirit among the RSX bunch!!
![]() Like you, I categorically hate spoilers and really despise how they make any car look. However, if you are going to have one anyway, that is one that I could live with. ![]()

I think that one continues the line that slopes upward as it goes from front to rear of the car. I like it.

. Sleeper FTW!!! Though I like the Type R wing, I don't think it's for me. The lip spoiler is so understated, yet makes such a nice statement (like me )

Yea i suppose i can live with it, but we are heading out to the body shop tomorrow morning to start signing all the repair papers, and i will probably ask if they can remove it as part of their repair service.
The more i think about it, it isnt too bad, but if i am given the option to remove it, i will. I think i have this negative thing for spoilers because i personally believe they have a purely aesthetic quality, unless i go about 90 or 100 ( and i dont think i will...often). idunno it is just a thing i have against parts that are that vision-altering and arent that useful. |

Well, it all comes down to being your car, so you get to do whatever you can and want to do to it.

We are heading up to the body shop tomorrow and i will see about them removing the spoiler then, rather than calling a bunch of people about it.
Also, i forgot to add the pics of my car being towed: both a blessing and a curse. It sucks to see it being towed so soon after i got it, but that tow truck also means that it will get fixed, which is a big plus. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Like watching you child being taken to the hospital. (well, maybe that's a bit much but...)

to acuraworldwhat's the mileage of the car? if the mileage is just about right, it shouldn't be totalled, but if it's too high, your carrier might just say fawk it and total it just so they can pay less money. from the looks of it, it shouldn't be totalled.
