--Damage--
My biggest worry now is the right rear quarter panel, it is crinkled from the impact and my friend, who owns a 97 acura CL, says that there is a chance that it isnt juts a detachable piece and that the body / frame is rippled on the inside just like it looks on the outside. If that is true, he said that odds are it may be impossible to fix or cost way too much in itself.

if ya wanna know any more, just ask. i had a LOT to say but like i said i accidentally deleted the message i had been typing for a long time. apparently my bad luck hasnt run out yet.

Thanks for the help so far.

EDIT
Here is a pic of that panel, closer up:

Edit again: i also forgot to mention there was some rim damage on the right rear, a small chunk was taken out, i guess by the bumper:
i can't see the pics at the moment cuz it's blocked here at work.

question: did the airbags deploy? if not, then don't worry about the quarter panel too much. it can be replaced and that it wasn't pushed too far in.

Well, the appraiser didnt total it, but there is still a very small chance that the body shop will find something catastrophically bad and then it will be totaled. However, as of right now, my car is NOT totaled and hopefully the repair process will go along smoothly.

I will post more info as i get it. Thanks for the support!
congrats. i should've read the whole page before responding.

He said it would add $350 to the car's value, which would help if i am pushing it on repair costs, but i dont want something on my car that i completely hate looking at. Honestly i would not mind so much the last 2 pics, the 1st one is the one that worries me.
pick the type r spoiler.

plus i saw this pic and it cheered me up a bit about having it, not that i like it now, just that it will be more livable:

and if worse comes to worse, it will be a nice little project for me to hide the holes once i take it off.

well, i am still crossing my fingers as he prepares the estimates. i assume it will still be not totaled, but who knows what could happen with my luck and all.
damn.......i can't see the pics again.

The more i think about it, it isnt too bad, but if i am given the option to remove it, i will.

I think i have this negative thing for spoilers because i personally believe they have a purely aesthetic quality, unless i go about 90 or 100 ( and i dont think i will...often). idunno it is just a thing i have against parts that are that vision-altering and arent that useful.
what is the total cost of the repair?

Not too sure about the cost of the repairs. Hopefully we will find out all this tomorrow morning.

Also, no the airbags did not deploy.

Ok, just got back from the shop. All in all it costs about 6,600 something for he repair cost. Now the thing that sucks the most if they have it scheduled to be finished on: July 23rd. Over three weeks away. Kinda sucks, but compared to never getting it back at all, it isn't all that bad.

Yeah, sucks that it will take so long, but look at this way: Do you want it fast or do you want it right? Sounds like you found a pretty decent body shop to work with. Getting the paint right just takes a little time.

So is the dumb fuck that hit you going to have a citation of any kind or is he just going to get his insurance rates jacked up? I hope both!

A friend of ours had her Mustang repaired. The company coudn't decide to call it totaled or not and eventually repaired. She was in a rental for over a month and a half. Nearly two months.

Gasp**

O well, i was kinda a bit peeved that it would take so long, but you all are right, i would rather get it back in a month than never get it back at all. Plus i had been telling myself (before the appraiser came and i wasnt sure if it was totaled) that as long as it isnt totaled, i dont care how long it takes to get it fixed. I guess since i was llucky it isnt totaled, i will sit and wait as long as i have to

Man, when the dealer destroyed my engine I was in their loaner for over a month... you better believe I beat the shit out of that thing. That's my suggestion, enjoy your rental car at the guy who hit you's expense.

Hopefully you can squeez a few extra bucks out of his insurance for black headlights?
