sticker removal
so i just bought my 02 rsx..theres alot of things i want to take off the car that the previous owner had done to make it look how i want it.. starting with removing the stickers he has all over it because im not a big fan of the shopping list on the side of the car, and the sticker on the cf hood.
the whole reason im asking about how to remove the stickers is because i used a heat gun to peal the stickers off the mirror cover and it took some paint with it.. so now im just replacing the mirrors all together. what should i do to take the rest of the stickers off the car and the CF hood without somtihng else happening..im also taking off the euro tails and the ugly spoiler.. heres a pic of the car..i only paid 10k for it and it has 46k miles on it the guy got married and had a baby so his wife made him ditch it.. ![]() ![]() |

depending on the type of adhesive used, sometimes it'll be impossible to avoid the sticker taking the paint off. Only thing I can reccomend is go at it slowly. use a heat gun to warm the adhesive and loosen it up and then slowly peel it off with some warm soapy water.

Not sure if I would use a heat gun. Maybe like a hair dryer. I'm thinking when people say heat gun, it's the industrial kind and that will really soften up the paint.

Yeah, maybe the hair dryer will work.

Great advice, dj!
After I buy a car, the first thing I want to do is to remove the dealer's name - why advertise for him, I paid for the car - and I use the heat from a blow drier. I start out with the lowest heat setting and take my time. Peel from a corner slowly and take my time. Patience will be rewarded with no paint damage. Good luck and take your time.

That's what i was going to say. Use some WD-40, i mean if it can work on taking off badges, i think it will work on some stickers.

Yeah definitely, besides, the CF hood doesn't look painted, so it will be easier I would think.
