It's the RSX forum Clappy, safe to assume he's talking about the RSX.

Yes there is a big difference between the two Mike. The main one being Type-S power > base power. The type S also has a stiffer suspension I believe, 6speed vs 5 speed, bigger wheels, and leather (though it's an option in the base).

So then I guess the next question would be is it worth the extra money? and do you think a insurance company would charge more on it?

I know with the 05-06 the Type S has 17" and the base has 16". I thought with the 02-04 it was 16"/15"?

Yes, your insurance company will probably charge more... but it's so worth it

Car 1: '06 RSX-S
Car 2: '06 RSX (wife's)
Car 3: '89 CRX (sold)
And for more of a comparison for the couple grand difference:

(I believe)

7" width instead of 6.5" width on the tire;

6-disc changer instead of single CD;

Subwoofer versus none

Though already mentioned, you can definitely feel the power difference. DEFINITELY! (wifey drive the base, I drive the "S")

Car 3: 06 RSX Type-S
05-06 Type-s Wheels 17inch - Love the wheels
05-06 Base Wheels 16inch - Looks small
05-06 Aspec Wheels 17inch - Ugly imo, looks very heavy

02-04 Type-s Wheels 16inch - Good for winter
02-04 Base Wheels - Same exact Wheels as Type-S - Good for winter
02-04 Aspec Wheels 17inch - Looks Good...

Hope that helps.
