Why not just go aftermarket suspension?

Outside of common knowledge of differences between the two models, here's some I didn't see pop up.

Type S uses larger front brake rotor and stiffer front caliper.

Approx 1.6mm piston diameter difference in front calipers

Larger brake master cylinder (3/4" on base, 15/16 on type s if I remember correctly)

Pressure plate bolt pattern and flywheel are different, but interchangeable (base models should change to Type S configuration flywheel for increased clutch options).

Rear subframe is braced on the Type S

Expensive. But that may change once I have a full time job next year. Plus, I'd only want to go an inch lower... snow.

Mine's one inch lower and I'm surprised at anyone who goes lower than that...especially 2 inches.

I dropped my Teg almost 2" and was so sorry. Getting in and out was tough enough . . . but speed bumps and sharp corners caused the front tires to rub against the fenders.

I think I'll keep the RSX at factory height and maybe just stiffen it up when it get's a few more miles on the odometer.

Tein is the shiz. Damn, now you guys have me thinking about trading the Civic in for a base model RSX for a DD. Bastards.

Then I think about how much I owe on the S and realize... who the fuck am I kidding?

How much did the Tein's cost (coilovers?) and is it easy to do yourself?

I put them in myself, spent maybe an hour on all four. I would say it's easy to put in...
It's been awhile, I believe I got them for around $250 which is way cheaper than Coilovers, if i had the money though, I would definetly go with the Coilovers, but I haven't had any issues besides Camber Wear, but that's cuz I am poor and don't have a camber kit..

Another question, and it might be a stupid one but I hardly know anything about car dealer's. If I took my teg in for a trade in on a 06, would they give me a new one with 0 miles or try to get me a new one? also do you think they would self finance or would they call my bank up and see what the "options" are and I would be back 2 square one like I have been where I need to put money down.

06 is not new anymore... so you would have a used one for sure. I guess it works the same in the US, but in Canada, Honda has a finance division... so basically it would be your choice to use Honda or your bank for the financing.

I went to Acura when I bought mine new and they financed me through a Bank.. I think it would be hard to find any car with 0 miles, maybe like 3 miles. But I don't think you will find a RSX New, but you never know, I went to a Mitsu Dealership last spring and they had a new 06 EVO MR sitting on the lot with 4 miles on it, so it's possible but unlikely.. They could search for one with low miles on it, but you will end up waiting for your car for awhile..

Yeah, as said chances are you won't find a new one... If it's at a Honda dealer you can finance through Honda. Either way you should have money to put down.
