Acura Line-Up

Went to Acura of Bellevue and test drove the 6-speed CLS.
Damn, it was fun. First two gears get going fast. And good
traction off the line even with crap tires. My 3rd gear is better though.

Anyhow... we got to gossiping and here's the stuff that's "supposed"
to be coming down the pipe at Acura. Ofcourse no official confirmation.

Acura might reintroduce the entire lineup at one time. Chances
are rare and dealerships don't really like that. (don't like to stock
all the lines I guess).

TLS grows... and becomes quieter and roomier. Also bigger version
of same engine. 3.5 or possible 3.8 v6.

CLS more than likely dead.

Accord based car comes in under the TL to compete with the is300
and such. He said it will probably be a carry over of the 3.2 and
manual 6 will be available. So imagine the 6-speed cls smaller and
probably a couple hundred pounds lighter. Oh, it'll be 4 door though.

RL. Supposedly the same engine as the TLS, but also dual
electrics. I can't say I believe this one yet... but it's supposed to
be same basis as the hybrid electric honda showed earlier

NSX. Same deal, mid engine v-6, rwd with dual electrics driving the
front wheels.

Who know whats coming... but that's the word from the local dealer.

All I know is that chick with the blonde hair is SMOKIN'!!!

Nice updates on what Honda/Acura has in store for it's future. Always interesting. No four door for me, not yet at least.

Your Mood:

Car 1: 2001 Acura 3.2CL-S
Car 2: 2003 Mercedes-Benz C32
sounds pretty reasonable....except for the RL. I can imagine Acura killing off the CL

Yea i heard about the NSX, someone posted it on the A-CL, i think it was in a magazine. I forget which one.

They really need to do somthing with the RL... why is acura scared to make a v8

CL- dead for sure.

New TL.. this will be either smoking, or fugly. I think what they need to do is make it like how they had the legend. Have one sedan and one coupe verison of it. BUt looking the same. You know like the G35 sedan and coupe. Now if acura puts more power in the new TL, then please upgrade YOUR TRANNY. I hope you are listening to me!! Also, i cant say i would want a car with over 300hp to the front wheels. That kinda scares me.

Yep. The RSX should have been aimed more at the IS300.

Forget the rsx, honda should use the s2k drivetrain and chassis, add four doors, lower the rpm's a little so the car appeals to the luxury sport sedan and they should have a is300 killer.

While they're at it, they should make a 3.0L inline six out of the S2000 engine.
