I went to highschool with Misti.....always a nice girl.
Things like this don't seem real until they happen to someone you know.

Funeral services were held on October 24, 2006 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma for Jay Dee Landers, Derrick Landers and Katana Landers, the three children of Jay Dee and Misti (Berry) Landers.
Interment was at the Whitebead Cemetery in Pauls Valley.
The children had been shot and killed by their father, who then set their home on fire and took his own life.
Honoring the memory of the Landers children, Whitebead School in Pauls Valley conducted a service with music and presentations, which was attended by 400 students, teachers and family members.
Jay Dee Landers, Jr., age 8; Derrick Jayson Landers, age 5; and Katana Lynn Landers, age 4, were all students at the Whitebead School.
The mother of the children is Misti (Berry) Landers of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, formerly of Porterville.
Other family members include: grandfather, Kurt Berry of Pine Flat; aunt, Amber Berry of Porterville; and great grandmother, Donna Misko of Porterville. Also aunts, Donna Marquette of Lindsay; Aunt Denise Martin of Alaska; uncles Wayne Berry of Lindsay; and david Adams, of Porterville; great aunt Janice Veldhuizen; and uncles Jim Davis and Gerald Davis and many cousins.
The Landers family members are grandmother, Linda Landers; step-brother, J.D. Grant; aunt Tammy Landers of Tulare; and Uncle Glen Landers of Farmersville.
A memorial service for the three beautiful children will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the Church of the Nazarene, 765 W. Henderson, Porterville. Rev. Mark Pitcher will conduct the service. Friends are invited to attend. The children's mother, Misti will be attending with her family.
